Bamboo stores 3x more carbon than a stand of trees the equivalent mass, producing 35% more oxygen. It requires 1/10th of the land needed than trees. Pulping bamboo involves 30% less water than pulping trees. Bamboo is not clear cut, meaning it’s not entirely cleared out like trees are while harvesting which leaves carbon underground.
